Shivamogga: Former minister KS Eshwarappa, angered by his son KE Kantesh’s denial of a party ticket to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha election from the Haveri-Gadag Lok Sabha seat, has lashed out at former CM B S Yediyurappa.

Speaking to reporters in Shivamogga on Thursday evening, Eshwarappa expressed his disappointment, stating that Yediyurappa has shown great concern for Shobha, even having the capacity to change her constituency from Udupi-Chikkamagaluru to Bengaluru North following the “go-back Shobha” campaign. However, he did not exhibit the same interest in ensuring that his son KE Kantesh received a ticket to contest from Haveri-Gadag.

Eshwarappa mentioned that Yediyurappa had promised him that his son would receive a ticket and assured him of obtaining it after discussing with senior party leaders in New Delhi, but he ultimately betrayed him.

Furious, Eshwarappa announced that he would make a political decision during a meeting convened by his supporters in the city on Friday evening (March 15). Many of his supporters believe that Yediyurappa and his son cheated him and his son, and a decision will definitely be made during that meeting, he stated.

He also added that in his 40 years of association with the party, he has never gone against it. Even the Rayanna Brigade, which started a few years ago, was disbanded following a request from the party high command. If that association were still active, it would have been a significant organization.
